Digital / 35mm Film
I tried to travel as light as possible on my trip to Japan, but I couldn’t resist the urge to shoot with a dedicated camera. So, I ended up buying a used Nikon D610 at a bargain price in a tiny camera store in Tokyo. The shop was the size of a shoebox, but it had the most attentive and knowledgeable salesperson I’ve ever encountered. It was a joy to shoot with the D610. Although I initially felt limited by the fact that I only had a 50mm prime lens, the inability to zoom encouraged me to change my perspective and really think about my subjects more deeply.
The analog shots were taken with a standard handheld camera, but unfortunately, the development process didn’t turn out well. You can really see the difference in quality compared to my film shots from France. Despite this, I learned a lot & gained a deeper appreciation for 35mm film as a medium. Mostly shoots of Toyko, Kyoto and Osaka.
